Fatboy Slim - Praise You

“Praise You” is a song by British big beat musician Fatboy Slim and music video was directed by Spike Jonze. The video was shot guerrilla style which means on location without obtaining any permission from the owners of the property. Music video was full of freedom. The reason is that people who were dancing on the middle didn’t fit in any dance figures, they created their own figures. Because of that, it was a different kinds of  music video in terms of place, people and dance when comparing other music videos. It breaks the stereotype  music videos like it had no remarkable clothes and people in the music video or they were not spending so much money in order to take this video. In my opinion, this makes more memorable video in people’s mind because dancing was really different and ones who watched the video tried to understand what they were doing and because their dance was unique, people remembered the video. It shows that you don’t need big production to be success. Dancers’s hands, legs and arms were moving freely in the air and they didn’t even care what people could think about their dance or their personality. No ones criticise these people while they were watching but at the same time viewer didn’t understand what try to say with this dance figures. However, they were still standing on there even if they didn’t understand. It was weird because dancers didn’t force them to watch their dance but people still watched them. It had mutual respect to each other. Moreover, these kinds of dance makes people to laugh. Dancers made positivity that environment and some of people enjoyed combination of music and dance. This music video won three major awards at the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards. These were Breakthrough Video, Best Direction and Best Choreography.
